Mini igloo!

A whimsical winter project and an appreciation of geometric symmetry

Completed over two days, the entire igloo was made from snow bricks formed in bread pans, chosen for the large draft angle. A heavy, sticky snow fell after the first day, resulting in a rough exterior texture on the lower portion.
The interior brick work has a pleasing symmetry to it. The bricks were angled to allow the dome to close gradually, resulting in the starburst pattern seen above
